How I’m curing MY acne

As many of you know, My skin is LOUSY!!!!!!!!! It’s oily in some places and dry in some other places. I get huge gross pimples and blackheads and whiteheads. I’ve tried everything under the sun ( except for taking pills) nothing has worked.

I’ve been looking for natural alternatives to most every product I use. I wouldn’t say that my reasons are anything but selfish. It’s not about animals or about the environment. It’s only about my body and doing whats best for me. I started moving away from heavy chemicals in February of last year and Baking soda almost immediately became a go to for a lot of things. As I researched oils and butters I found more and more information on their benefits and why it was worth buying.

So on to the good stuff! My Regimen

Everyday twice a day I wash my face with baking soda diluted in Aloe Vera Juice with a few drops of Tea Tree Oils and Rosemary Oil. It lightly exfoliates my face and lifts away excess oil without drying my face out. ( the way that soap did)

After I wash my face with the baking soda solution, in the morning I apply my home made moisturizer which consists on Aloe Vera Juice, Water, Witch Hazel, Aragan Oil, Sweet Orange Oil, Rosemary Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Lavender Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Glycerin.

At night I use the Baking Soda to wash, but in between the moisturizer and the baking soda scrub I use an astringent. The Astringent is lemon juice, aloe Juice, water, witch hazel and tea tree oil.

finally once a week I steam my face and apply an avocado banana mask (avocado, banana, honey (or glycerin) and an egg)

All the dry spots on my skin are refreshed and moisturized and all the oily parts are no longer super oily. I’ve been doing this since February when I purchased my steamer and I love it.

I will say that If i fall asleep without washing my face I’ll waking up with pimples, so this is something I have to stick with.

If you already own a steamer GREAT if not.. DON’T GO BUY ONE. You can just boil some water, pour it in a big bowl, grab a towel and have a steam session that way.

I’ll be posting the recipes (with measurements ) on my new website as soon as I complete it so Be looking out for that 🙂

  1. You should really try Apple Cider Vinegar for a toner. I’ve been using it for what, five days, and my skin is almost completely cleared up. I’ll be posting comparison photos after a week if that helps. But I’ve heard great things about the oils that you’re using.

My regimen is also all natural, and it consists of ‘washing’ my face with water, using apple cider vinegar as a toner, and then using olive oil and honey for a moisturizer (from the Egyptian Magic thing, because it’s hard to scrub olive oil off). Then every once in a while I use a scrub of sugar and olive oil. It has worked really well for me so far, so if you want to change up your routine, look into it!

  2. This sounds like quite a regimine, Steph! But I love that you’re using all-natural stuff. You should definitely check out apple cider vinegar too.

  3. Acne is really one of the most troublesome disease which an individual may get. It can hurt a person’s self-confidence so terribly especially if you have cystic acne breakouts which actually makes your skin worst. Right now there is still no long term cure for acne and we can only manage its symptoms.
