In December of 2017, I started a new job and things rapidly changed from there. I became engaged to my best friend ( and also probably the only human who can simultaneously make me happy and angry) in January. I moved to a place that I love in March. I started working on my spiritual life and my relationship with God. I started to work on my eating habits but most of all I decided I would focus on my mental health.
With all these self propelled things happened by and stress of daily life I have more than fallen short of goals. So this is Accountability.
Accountability is the key to success. I had the misfortune of being sucked into a $1000 sales pitch by a gym to lost 40lbs in 6 weeks. The centerpiece of the pitch was accountability. The Gym owner said ” you have everything you need to be successful except the support of a community with similar goals” so I’m building an accountability team.
Having people in your life who can hold you accountable to the goals you set for yourself, whether it is your business, your health, your spiritual life; you need someone to keep you on track. Social pressure is a powerful tool.
My pastor has been the one to hold My future HusBAE and I accountable in our relationship goals ( as she helps us prep for married life) our church family holds us accountable for our spiritual goals. We understand that we cannot do the big things alone. And so we build accountability teams around the goals we want to achieve.
All that to say: This serves as my way of holding my feet to the fire.
My goals:
In 30 days I want to have worked out 60 times. I want to have lost 15lbs and to be rid of overly sugary addictions
In 30 days I want to have tackled one thing that makes me scared.
In 30 days, I want to have started work on one big idea. Whether it’s a business plan or a short story. Just one thing in my idea book has to take form.
I look forward to updating y’all on the progress.
